Janeen Violante – Introspection Trough God Eyes

This podcast is a brave but inspiring conversation between two people who started with a common question, wandered and explored the vast world of faith and understanding faith, and now merging to a common understanding of what it means to believe.

Janeen is a graphic designer from New York who has over 30 years of experience in the industry and owns her own business, the Hudson Valley Graphics.

Without anything to do with her career background, guest Janeen came to this deeply intimate but thought-provoking conversation with host Alexandra because they both recently found their voices in talking about God again.

Coming into age was Janeen’s primary reason for her introspection. But these volatile times of uncertainty and change was also what prompted her to really speak about what she did found within her in those years of condensing the many different messages of belief and faith she tried listening to.

Janeen thinks of herself as someone who’s always been a truth-seeker, especially in regard to death—something people say that as you get older, you just can’t help but think about it.

Starting out with questions like ‘what’s going on?’ ‘What’s the plan here?’ ‘Do I have any control over what’s gonna happen?’, she sat unto many different ministries, denominations and heard many different kinds of messages. Janeen daresay she doesn’t have the answers but she has settled into a belief system that has it.

The same situation that set Alex to assail. And it took a lot of uncovering all the shadow issues she had with it, tossing out a lot of old beliefs.

Respect and deep appreciation of the journey that it has been at the center of this conversation. People do get caught and stuck in concepts and stop learning and growth. So Janeen doesn’t go there. And because no, this not anything to convince people but something that opens up and lets listeners into the wonderful journey that it has been for people like Janeen and Alex.

And sharing the grace of arriving, Janeen leaves Alex and the listeners a challenge: Sit in silence and feel the love of God.

Podcast Highlights

  • We are living in very volatile times. This past year has humbled a lot of us. So I have been motivated to be more outspoken about my faith. And turning 60 really impacted me: I looked at my life and asked myself how I want to be remembered. A big part of that is to candidly share my beliefs and about my faith. – Janeen Violante
  • I have come into a place where I understand God to be a loving Father, who loves me and desires to guide and lead me and hold me and feel safe there. – Janeen Violante
  • I try to stay in this place: God created, formed, designed me in my mother’s womb. God knows me better than I know myself, loves me more than I can ever imagine, wants to have a relationship with me, wants to hold me and lead me in my life. – Janeen Violante
  • I have not encountered a death-like experience but I have a deep spiritual knowing that God is real and that I have a relationship with him. Maybe I’m completely wrong, but I’d rather live with a sense of peace and a spiritual sense of knowing of what I believe to be God than not. – Janeen Violante
  • There’s a lot of nuances to explore. And somehow, some organized religions have somehow run with it. The reality is there is nothing we can actually do to make God love us more or less. – Janeen Violante
  • It’s not about whether what you believe is true or not. Just go into the depth of what you believe in. And that’s what we’re also learning in Ayurveda. While having your beliefs, you can create something where you feel safe and peaceful and in harmony with the bigger nature at the end of the day. – Alexandra Kreis
  • You can find your way in. It’s written in so many ways. Just listen to yourself. – Alexandra Kreis
